The illustration was conceived as a wearable quilt, inspired by her great-grandmother’s hand-stitched blankets, and serves as a vibrant meditation on freedom, community, and colour without rules.

Rich in painterly reds, greens, pinks, and muddy oranges, the artwork blends flora, fauna, and surrealist motifs in a way that embraces imperfection and spontaneity — a recurring theme in Herikita’s work. The result is an expressive piece that feels both personal and powerful.
